DESIGN COMMUNICATION

Introduces the necessary foundational abilities for effective architectural design communication. It employs several techniques for visualizing and expressing spatial concepts through architectural drawings in order to equip students with the abilities needed for design assignments.

ASSIGNMENT 1

Project 1: Movie Poster

This project, which takes inspirations from diffrent movies poster and emphasizes on the usage of colour media and its infographics. Diffrent ideas are being exposed and creative ideas are being drawn over papers. This results in unique movies posters that are based on ones understanding and ideas.

ASSIGNMENT 2

Project 2: Farnworth House

This project, requires us to master the skill of engineering drawings. The task is for each student to redraw plans of the famous architecture house, Farnworth House. It requires the skills and precision in order to replicate the plans to its exact measurements. Line weights and perspective are also being shown in the drawings, emphasizes on its own different mass and materials, as well as for its density in perspective view.

ASSIGNMENT 3

Project 3: Presentation Board

This project, entitled Expressions through Architecture Design Elements and Principles, aims to introduce fundamental understanding of architectural design elements and principles, processes, and approaches in generating ideas, developing design, and creating geometric 2D artworks (tattoo stamp) and 3D forms (model).

THE END

WHAT HAVE I LEARNED?

At the end of his project, I learned how to sharpen more of my skills. Besides what I had learned in the previous class, I also found other skills that i did not expect. In this class, I found my passion in how to think more critically and how to consider everything. As they said, "Detail is God". I like how I have the freedom to design anything according to my idea and to consider how I can develop more of my skills because I believe that "Beauty is the eyes of the beholder".

TGC'S I HAVE ACHIEVED

At the end of his project, I learned some important skills and knowledge which will always be remembered by me. Those skills are called Taylor's Graduate Capabilities. Among them are Lifelong Learning, Thinking and Problem Solving, and lastly Intrapersonal Skills. Along my journey throughout the semester, I learned how to know more about the buildings I draw, know the differences in media used, learn how to improve my skills in planning drawing and etc. This ended in results that I achieved the first TGC'S, Lifelong Learning. Besides that, throughout the journey, I also faced several obstacles. But with guidance, advice, and moral support from lecturers, family, and friends, I persevered, and made me think of several ways to overcome those problems. This led to the achievement of the second TGC'S, Thinking and Problem Solving. Finally, Along the journey, I have overcome some challenges, especially with my communication. It is awkward at first to meet new friends after completing foundations. But after getting to know them well, communication has been great. This led to the final TGC'S, Intrapersonal Skills.
