Architecture History & Theory
Through a variety of gamification and technological applications offered on the module site, we learn a chronological history of the evolution of Ancient architecture to Western architecture in this module.
ASSIGNMENT 1
Project 1: Group Project: Architecture style
In this project, we are put into groups to conduct a case study on the architectural style. Our topics are The Age Of Enlightenment. We conducted a case study on 2 buildings which are in Buckingham Palace and the Altes Museum which have the same architectural styles as our study case. This deepens our understanding of different styles of buildings built to accommodate and how it looks on the overall construction.

WHAT HAVE I LEARNED?
In this module, I have learned about the different styles of architecture consturected over the millennia. Over the evolutions of humans, architecture has divided human history over the different styles and functions of building. It not only act as a simple building made of wood or bricks, but as a statement of time that tells its own story about the time it was build and how the conditions of its society. It also tells a story of its glory days as well as its last moments of shine, its glory once stood. We, should learn how these genius building has stand to the statement of time and improve or perhaps learn from our ancestor knowledge on building a building.
TGC'S I HAVE ACHIEVED
In this module, I have learned some interesting things along my journey in the first semester. Along the way, I learned how to determine the style of architecture of each building. I also learned about some mindblowing architectural marvels built by human civilization over the millennia which left me in awe. It teaches me some extraordinary ways to build buildings especially when facing mother nature elements. This learning led me to the first TGC'S, Lifelong Learning. Besides that, I learn how to identify the details of different are on building around the world as well as the local building around Malaysia. It is fascinating to see how the engineering behind the construction method is shown. Using the method studied, I applied it in the construction of my models. This requires some deep thought and consideration which leads me to think critically about its functionality as well as its overall appearance. This led to my second TGC'S, Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills. As a continuation, I find it a little bit difficult for me to talk to my lecturer at first due to me just beginning to enter into Degree at first. But after getting to know them well, I find it very interesting and fun to have a conversation with them. It feels as if they are my 2nd parents to me, teaching me and guiding me along the way. This led me to my final TGC'S, Intrapersonal Skills which I have developed from all the guidance and teaching from them.
