ARCHITECTURE DESIGN II

Project 1

In this assignment, we were delegated on to a group. We were assigned to an architect and their key building. We were tasked to conduct research on its background, as well as to produce several architectural drawings of the key building.

Project 2

In this assignment, we were given task in a group to explore the usage of architectural principles and how to form and craft areas. The concept is to design a contemplative pavilion which relates to the relationships between human and nature.

Project 3

In this assignment, we were given task to design a tropical sanctuary that accommodates 2 people. This project are based on our site, Taman Botani Negara Shah Alam.

WHAT HAVE I LEARNED?

In this module, I learned more how to design specific structure for a specific site. We learned how and why it was built in a way that expresses or enchancing more of the site and how the sites effects the design of the structure. We also learned that the sites, give the structure its own character as well as how do we solves and embraces the site using the site analysis that we has done.

TGC'S I HAVE ACHIEVED

In this module, I have learned some interesting things along my journey in my second semester. Along the way, I learned how to determine the style of architecture of each building. I also learned about how each building corresponded to its surrounding which gives the surrounding area its own identity.

This learning led me to the first TGC'S, Lifelong Learning. Besides that, I learn how to identify the site that the structure is about to be build. It is important as this is one of the most important step in ensuring the design works well with the site. This led to my second TGC'S, Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills. As a continuation, I find it a little bit difficult for me to talk to my lecturer as I am not used to meeting new lecturers and tutors. But after getting to know them well, I find it very interesting and fun to have a conversation with them. They thought me how to be critical at all time, analysing and interpreting data as well as teaching me and guiding me along the way. This led me to my final TGC'S, Intrapersonal Skills which I have developed from all the guidance and teaching from them.
