ARCHITECTURE DESIGN 4

PROJECT P1A
P1A focused on understanding the north side of Taman Wawasan Recreational Park through detailed site analysis. It included studies of hardscape, natural features, circulation, micro-site conditions, and user demographics. Issues such as poor lighting, uneven paths, limited shading, and insufficient facilities were identified. The analysis also explored user behavior, crowd intensity, and SWOT analysis, forming the foundation for later design proposals
PROJECT P1B
P1B introduced “Sense-Scape,” a small-scale playful and sensory pavilion designed to encourage children to pause, explore, and engage with nature at their own pace. It features textured walls, recycled materials, filtered light, and interactive elements to nurture curiosity and reflection while fostering a stronger relationship with the surrounding environment and community. This pavilion serves as a serenity and enrichment node, guiding visitors toward the main recreational hub.

PROJECT P1C
P1C evolved into KOMUNE, a creative and recreational cluster hub that integrates the concepts of Create, Connect, and Contemplate. It features co-working areas, workshops, rooftop walkways, social steps, and semi-outdoor gardens, encouraging intergenerational interaction and community bonding. The design emphasizes sustainability, natural ventilation, and park integration, transforming the northern site into a vibrant space for learning, leisure, and wellness.
WHAT HAVE I LEARNED?
In this module, I learned how to analyze, design, and develop architectural solutions that respond to a specific site. From P1A to P1C, I understood how site conditions, circulation, and natural elements influence a structure’s form, function, and character. I explored how to create spaces that enhance the environment, encourage community engagement, and balance functionality with aesthetics. This journey taught me to integrate creativity with site responsiveness, transforming conceptual ideas into buildable, meaningful designs.
TGC'S I HAVE ACHIEVED

In this module, I have gained deeper insights into designing site-responsive architecture through my journey in AD4. I learned how to analyze site conditions, circulation patterns, and environmental factors to develop designs that harmonize with their surroundings and give each area its own unique identity.
This experience led me to achieve my first TGC, Lifelong Learning, as I continuously explored how a design evolves from site analysis to conceptual development and finally into a comprehensive architectural proposal. I also learned how to identify and respond to site challenges, an essential step to ensure that the final design functions effectively within its context. This process strengthened my second TGC, Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills, as I applied critical thinking to create spaces that encourage community interaction while addressing environmental and functional needs.
Initially, I found it challenging to communicate my ideas with new lecturers and tutors. However, through regular discussions and critiques, I grew more confident and learned to analyze feedback, interpret data, and refine my design ideas effectively. This personal growth reflects my final TGC, Intrapersonal Skills, developed through continuous self-improvement and guidance from my mentors.
